MetaMovements Instructors: Carlos aka Niche
Carlos is a dancer, instructor and choreographer in a wide range of cultural dance forms including Salsa, Cumbia, Porro, Merengue, and Bachata, among others. He was raised in Colombia, and was surrounded by music and dance throughout his childhood. He always loved Latin music, and during his last 2 years in Colombia, he owned and operated a Latin night club called La X.
He came to Boston with his family at the age of 18, and looking to stay connected to his music and culture, he began working as a DJ at a Colombian night club. He always loved salsa dancing, and divided his time between DJ-ing and dancing. By 2006, he knew that Salsa was going to become his path in life, and began training seriously to become an dancer and an instructor.
Today, it is his full-time profession. Carlos started training with Anara in the Fall of 2003, and has been training intensively with Metamovements since it's inception in 2006. He is now a
co-director of the MetaMovements company. He also trains with Salsa Y Control Dance Co.
