About Us

Founded in Boston in 2006, MetaMovements is an artist collective dedicated to using dance & music as tools for positive transformation. Through leadership trainings, arts instruction, performances, parties and trips, we strive to help each other grow and lift each other's spirits, while celebrating the history  and evolution of the dance & music we love. Today our collective members span multiple countries, but remain united in our commitment to each other and our mission to create lasting social change.

COVID-19 UPDATE: All public workshops and events are currently postponed... but a lot is happening online! Private lessons, zoom calls, instructional videos, performance challenges, all to learn at home and connect with other dance lovers virtually.  Let us know if you'd like us to contact you with more information!

Through MetaMovements Cultural Connections Travel Programs, we host cultural exchange tours that bring people together for memorable, uplifting experiences in Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and U.S., and other locations. To create the most unique and authentic opportunities for cultural exchange, we collaborate with artists and consultants who are native to each location ... making sure we have the expertise to provide the best experience for all of our travelers!

COVID-19 UPDATE: Trips in March and April are currently postponed in cooperation with the travel regulations to prevent the spread of COV-ID 19.  We are watching and waiting to see what will happen for May and beyond. If you'd like to learn more about our travel programs -- check out our websites below!  If you'd like to speak with someone in our office about the programs, fill out our contact form and we'll be in touch!

Events &

Community Programs

COVID-19 UPDATE: For many of us in Boston, Salsa in the Park is what marks the start of Summer! More than a party, it's a series of community events that brings hundreds of people with different backgrounds, abilities, and styles together. While the outlook for outdoor events this summer is still uncertain - we will be working hard to keep the spirit of this beloved community project alive online, and finding ways to keep us connected as we prepare for the future. To get the latest updates on this project, or to get involved with our planning efforts and online groups, click the button below, and tell us about your interests!

Our Updates Regarding COVID-19

All of our collective members are sheltering in place, spread out in different countries, but staying active in our homes, and connected online.  We have been looking for ways to help each other through this crisis, and we are thankful for the caring messages, the check-in calls, and the much-needed donations and offers to volunteer that we are receiving from our community.  We are also aware that many in our community are struggling with the feeling of isolation, and the lack of dancing and joyful human contact we are used to.

We are working on keeping our positive mindset, and on creating solutions that can help our communities of amazing artists, as well as our students, travelers and supporters.  We are visualizing a circle of support that can include all of us who want to be connected through a collective effort -- and music, dance and cultural exchange!

Join our "Supporters Circle" and feel the positive energy that comes from all of us helping each other!
