The magic of MMCuba returns to Boston!
Welcome Yoandry san juan
Join us For a Dance-filled weekend!
September 22-24, 2023
Yoandry San Juan
Instructor
Yoandry is an artist and dancer from Havana. He specializes in son, salsa, reggaeton/repartero and the dances of various Orishas. He has been a part of the MetaMovements collective since 2012 and currently resides in Toronto, Canada. When not dancing, he loves to make music and help others record theirs. He continues to support the recording studio he had opened in Havana!
As many of you who have traveled with us know, MetaMovements collaborates with artists in Cuba and the Dominican Republic to bring travelers to their countries for authentic, immersive dance and music experiences. Through these travel programs, we build meaningful, lasting relationships across borders, inspiring positive ripple effects that impact not only our own lives, but our entire communities. We learn so much through our shared passion for music and dance, as we work together to find ways to make careers in the arts more sustainable and equitable everywhere.
We are thrilled that Yoandry can visit us in Boston! He now lives in Toronto, Canada and recently received permission to travel to the US. We hope this will be the first of many visits.
Yoandry is looking forward to reuniting with travelers he met in Cuba, as well as making new friends in the Boston dance community. Mark your calendars for this special weekend, and join in the fun! There will be opportunities to dance and reconnect— both outdoors and indoors— and time for exchanging with an amazing dancer and musician from our collective in Havana.
