About the event
Cuban Dance Technique Classes & Dance Team (Wednesdays)
Cuban Folklore Technique explores movement patterns, footwork, body isolations, posture, timing and how the movement interacts with Cuban Folklore music. Cuban Modern Technique blends Modern Dance with Cuban folkloric & traditional dance genres like Orishas, Congo, Rumba, all of which are then explored in our Afro Cuban Technique class. With structured exercises and expressive movement, these technique classes build strength, flexibility, and artistry—while honoring Cuba’s cultural roots. All levels welcome, taught by Anara & Javier, with live music accompaniment.
Dance Team members deepen this work through additional rehearsals, coaching, and performance preparation.
Dates: 12/3, 12/17, 2 week holiday break, 1/7, 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4 & 2/11
Location: Cambridge Community Center, Cambridge, MA (5-6 minute walk from Central Square and non-resident parking available)
6:00–7:45 PM: Dance Team rehearsal
