Cuban Modern Technique is a unique training method developed in 1960s Havana to train dancers in Cuba’s national companies, including Danza Contemporánea de Cuba and the Conjunto Folclórico Nacional. It blends Modern Dance with Afro-Cuban dance genres like Orishas, Congo, Rumba, and Flamenco. With structured exercises and expressive movement, this technique builds strength, flexibility, and artistry—while honoring Cuba’s cultural roots. It remains a core part of dance education across styles in Cuba today, often known simply as “La Clase Técnica" or "Danza". These classes will be taught by Javier Jeffer & Anara Frank of MetaMovements and it's open to all levels. Beginners to this style of dance must attend the first hour.
