About the event

DeCu Modern Technique (Mondays)

Cuban Modern Technique is a unique training method developed in 1960s Havana to train dancers for Cuba’s national companies. It blends Modern Dance with Cuban dance genres like Orishas, Congo, Rumba, and Flamenco. It also includes components of Ballet and Tai Chi.  With structured exercises and expressive movement, this technique builds strength, flexibility, and artistry—while honoring Cuba’s cultural roots. It remains a core part of dance education across styles in Cuba today, often known simply as “La Clase Técnica or Danza". This class is taught by Anara & Javier, with live percussion accompaniment.

The program is designed for beginner through advanced/professional levels.  Register for the full 8-week series or drop in as your schedule allows.
