About the event
Merengue is all about pure, joyful energy and accessible rhythms, while Bachata brings that smooth, grounded connection to the music. Both born in the Dominican Republic (DR), these iconic styles are staples of Latin social dancing—and at MetaMovements, we teach them intentionally through a direct connection to their roots. As an artist collective, our work links us closely with our MMRD (MetaMovements Dominican Republic) family, a dedicated team of artists, dance hosts, and cultural leaders in Las Terrenas in the DR.
Learning these dances here in Boston is just the beginning! Our MMRD team loves sharing their culture, and they’re already inviting our community to visit them in the Dominican Republic this February for an immersive trip. You'll get to dance on the beach, learn directly from local artists, and experience the culture right at its source.
So get your foundation started with MetaMovements in Boston this fall for FREE!…
