VOLUNTEER
MetaMovements is currently seeking volunteers for Salsa In The Park this summer!
MetaMovements' self-produced events like Salsa In The Park can only happen with the support of our community. From the set up to table management to helping in the bag check area to breakdown, the community's involvement is key to the success of the event. We are constantly searching for new and familiar faces to help out any and every week. The following are our main volunteer positions (available all in shifts):
-
Set up (of dance floor, tables and signs - usually between at least two to three hours prior)
-
Greeters (welcoming people to the event)
-
Assistant teachers (must have some salsa teaching experience)
-
Table Managers (Bag Check, Music Corner, Kids corner, Merchandise, Information, Water bar)
-
Performers (any amount of individuals of any genre)
-
Breakdown (dance floor, tables and signs) - no more than an hour with enough volunteers
-
Silent Rhythms Assistant - We are looking for teaching assistants to help Kerry Thompson (creator and lead instructor of Silent Rhythms) teach people who are deaf & blind. Either (ideally both) a fluency in ASL (American Sign Language) and/or ability to dance is helpful! Kerry has limited vision & is a DeafBlind dancer herself!
